  5. To move between the various ^x0AMenu Choices^n
  6. you may use the ^x0CLeft^n and ^x0CRight^n Arrow
  7. Keys.

  9. To select a ^x0AMenu Item^n, press ^x0CEnter^n
  10. when the ^x0AItem^n you wish to select is
  11. highlighted.

  13. You may select a ^x0AMenu Item^n and have that
  14. selection executed immediately by 
  15. typing the first character of the ^x0AMenu^n
  16. ^x0AItem^n's Name.

  18. If the current screen displayed is the
  19. ^x0AMain User Screen^n and you are not actually
  20. editing the screen, you may toggle the
  21. display of the ^x0ATop^n or ^x0ABottom^n
  22. portion of the screen by pressing the 
  23. ^x0CS^n key. This will bring the bottom
  24. portion of the screen into view if it 
  25. is not already viewable, and the top
  26. portion of the screen into view, if the
  27. bottom portion is currently being
  28. displayed.

  30. Edit User allows you to edit the record
  31. of the currently displayed User.
  32. @@ADD
  33. Add User allows you to add a new User to
  34. the database.
  35. @@DEL
  36. Pressing the Del Key or selecting Del
  37. User will delete the currently displayed
  38. user from the database.
  39. @@TOGGLE
  40. Pressing I or selecting Toggle Index will
  41. change the active index so that you may
  42. view the Users either by Name or Level.
  43. @@SEARCH
  44. Search For User allows you to locate a
  45. user by First and Last Name.
  46. @@LOCATE
  47. Locate User allows you to locate a user
  48. by Last Name.
  49. @@FIND_HANDLE
  50. Find Handle allows you to locate a user
  51. that is using a specific Handle.
  52. @@REGIS_USER
  53. Register Users allows you to register
  54. all of your Users in a specific Forum or
  55. a group of Forums.
  56. @@UNREGIS_USER
  57. UnRegister Users allows you to Unregister
  58. all of your Users in a specific Forum or
  59. a group of Forums.
  60. @@REGIS_LEVEL
  61. Register Users By Level allows you to
  62. Register Users that have a specific 
  63. security level in a Forum or a group of
  64. Forums.
  65. @@SUB_ALL
  66. Update All Users allows you to change
  67. the Subscription Date for all of your
  68. Users.
  69. @@SUB_FORUM
  70. Update Users In Forum allows you to
  71. change the Subscription Date for all
  72. Users that are members of a specific
  73. Forum.
  74. @@SUB_LEVEL
  75. Update Users By Level allows you to
  76. change the Subscription Date for all
  77. Users with a specific security level.
  78. @@SUB_EXPLEV
  79. Change Expired Level allows you to change
  80. the Expired Subscription Level for all
  81. Users who have the Expired Level you
  82. provide.
  83. @@RESET_LAST
  84. Reset Pointers will set the Last Read
  85. Message Numbers for all Users in all 
  86. Areas to 0.
  87. @@CHANGE_LEVEL
  88. Security Level will change the security
  89. level for Users that have a specific 
  90. level.
  91. @@LEVEL_UP
  92. Level By Uploads will change the security
  93. level of any User that has Uploaded a
  94. specified number of files.
  95. @@LEVEL_MES
  96. Level By Messages will change the
  97. security level of any User that has left
  98. a specified number of messages.
  99. @@SORT
  100. Sort will perform a physical sort of the
  101. user file, arranging users by Security
  102. Level and Last Name.
  103. @@REP_LIST
  104. User Listing will produce a listing of
  105. all of your Users.
  106. @@REP_EXP
  107. Expired Subscription will produce a
  108. report listing any User who's subscrip-
  109. tion has expired or is about to expire.
  110. @@REP_DAYS
  111. Subscription By Days will produce a
  112. report listing any User who's subscrip-
  113. tion will expired in a specified number
  114. of days.
  115. @@FIRST
  116. This is the User's First Name. The first
  117. character of the name must be an 
  118. alphabetic character.
  119. @@LAST
  120. This is the User's Last Name. The first
  121. character of the name must be an 
  122. alphabetic character.
  123. @@PASS
  124. This is the password the User must use in
  125. order to gain access to the system.
  126. @@ADDRESS
  127. This is the User's street address. The
  128. first address line may also be used to
  129. hold the User's Company Name if
  130. appropriate.
  131. @@CITY
  132. This is the User's home town.
  133. @@STATE
  134. This is the User's State or Province.
  135. @@ZIP
  136. This is the User's Zip or Postal Code.
  137. @@COUNTRY
  138. This is the User's Country. This field
  139. defaults to the Sysop's Country as set
  140. up in Configuration.
  141. @@HPHONE
  142. This is the User's Home Phone number.
  143. @@BPHONE
  144. This is the User's Business or Data
  145. Phone number.
  146. @@BIRTH
  147. This is the User's date of Birth.
  148. @@REGIS_DATE
  149. This is the date the User first became a
  150. member of the board.
  151. @@SUB_DATE
  152. This is the date the User's Subscription
  153. expires. If you do not run a subscription
  154. board, this date has no meaning.
  155. @@HANDLE
  156. This is the alias the User is using (if
  157. appropriate).
  158. @@COMMENT
  159. You may enter any information about the
  160. User in this field. The user will never
  161. see this information.
  162. @@LEVEL
  163. This is the User's Security Level. Access
  164. rights, based upon security levels, are
  165. defined in your SECLEV file (which you
  166. configure in GAPSETUP).
  167. @@LASTDATE
  168. This is the date the User was last on the
  169. system.
  170. @@LASTTIME
  171. This is the time the User was last on the
  172. system.
  173. @@PRIVATE
  174. If you run a Subscription Board, no user
  175. will be allowed onto the system unless
  176. the user's Private User Flag is set to
  177. Yes. This field has no meaning if you do
  178. not run a subscription board.
  179. @@ENF_TIME
  180. Time limits per session and/or day are
  181. configured in your SECLEV file. Whether
  182. or not you allow users to call back an
  183. unlimited number of times per day is
  184. set by a flag in configuration. If you
  185. generally do not allow users to call
  186. back after their time has expired, you
  187. may override that function for any 
  188. particular user by setting this field to
  189. No.
  190.  
  191. Note that time limits per session are
  192. still enforced. In other words, if you
  193. give a user 50 minutes per session, the
  194. user will still be limited to 50 minutes
  195. but you may allow a particular user to
  196. call back an unlimited number of times
  197. and receive the full 50 minute time 
  198. allotment, by setting this field to No.
  199. @@EDITOR
  200. This field allows you to set the default
  201. Message Editor the User will be prompted
  202. to use just prior to entering a message.
  203.  
  204. Set this field to either V or L for
  205. Visual or Line Editor.
  206. @@CHAT
  207. This is the default Network Chat
  208. preferance for the User. This field has
  209. no meaning if you are running a single
  210. user system.
  211.  
  212. If the User wishes to automatically be
  213. made Unavalable for Chat, set this field
  214. to No.
  215. @@MSGCLR
  216. If set to Yes, GAP will clear the screen
  217. between each message that is displayed.
  218. @@EXPERT
  219. If set to Yes, the User will be in Expert
  220. mode and GAP will not display the Main
  221. Menu.
  222. @@PROTOCOL
  223. This is the Protocol Letter representing
  224. the User's Default Protocol.
  225. @@PAGE
  226. This is the User's Page Length (the 
  227. number of lines that will be displayed
  228. on the screen before a More Prompt is
  229. issued.
  230. @@EXPIRED
  231. If you run a Subscription Board and a
  232. User's Subscription has Expired, the User
  233. is normally set back to the default 
  234. Expired Subscription Level as set up in
  235. Configuration. You can override the
  236. default level and enter a level to set
  237. the user back to here.
  238. @@EXPIRED_FOR
  239. If you run a Subscription Board and a
  240. User's Subscription has Expired, the User
  241. is normally removed from all the Forums
  242. such that the User will only be able to
  243. join the Public Forums. If you do not
  244. want this to happen to this particular
  245. User, set this field to No.
  246. @@CREDITS
  247. This field represents any time credits
  248. a User may have. It can be either a
  249. positive or negative number. 
  250. @@DISCON
  251. This field shows how many times this User
  252. has dropped carrier instead of using
  253. GoodBy to log off the system.
  254. @@LAST_FORUM
  255. This is the number of the last Forum the
  256. User was in when he/she logged off.
  257. @@NEW_MES
  258. This field is used internally by GAP and
  259. specifies if the User has any new mail in
  260. the Main Board. This field should not be
  261. changed.
  262. @@LAST_DIR
  263. This is the date the User did a New Files
  264. Scan.
  265. @@TIMESON
  266. This is the number of times the User has
  267. logged onto the system.
  268. @@TTLMINS
  269. This is the total number of minutes the
  270. user has spent on the system.
  271. @@CURMINS
  272. This is the number of minutes the User 
  273. has been on the system today (or on the
  274. last date the User was on).
  275. @@LASTMSG
  276. This is the number of the last Main Board
  277. message the User read.
  278. @@MES_READ
  279. This is the total number of messages the
  280. User has read.
  281. @@MES_LEFT
  282. This is the total number of messages the
  283. User has left.
  284. @@FOR_JOINED
  285. This is t
